TOMORROW. Tomorrow I become a UGA graduate. Holy cow. (Well, tomorrow I become a Hodgson School of Music graduate. Saturday, a UGA grad. If you want to get technical.) Anyway. How am I celebrating today?
By listening to Tchaikovsky's 4th. Obviously.
I have a test tomorrow!!! Yuck. The last test for my Romantic Music class. So, I am studying this lovely afternoon. Not that I should be complaining - studying means listening and memorizing pieces of music that really are very pretty. And I've been able to take it pretty easy the past few days, since this is my only final and all. Really, this is my last music exam. Ever. So I guess I should enjoy this kind of studying while I can still do it, huh?
This week has been pretty laid back - slept in most days. Met with some professors about writing med school recommendations and my personal statement and actually STARTED MY APPLICATION! Crazy. Side note on the personal statement - who knew writing about yourself for a page could be so difficult? Not me. Celebrated Cinco de Mayo last night. Caught up with several friends and enjoyed the beautiful weather we've been having these days.
This morning I went bridesmaid dress shopping!! In November I am going to be in this pretty lady's wedding.....
Katie is becoming Mrs. Jackson on November 6th! (And yes, we do sing "I'm sorry Ms. Jackson!" to her all the time now...). Man oh man, are there a lot of dress choices for your bridesmaids! I'm glad I'm not the one making the decision. I just smile and enjoy.
Tonight we are grilling out at the pool of our apartments as a graduation/Wendy's birthday celebration. Tomorrow it is test time, then music school graduation. And a fun costume for a 80's and 90's grad party... pictures will be posted. :-) Saturday I have a rehearsal, then lunch with the fam and graduation! Celebrating Mom and Hilary's last GYSO concert on Sunday.
Then on Monday.... I'm going to ARGENTINA!!! What?!? I know. I have that reaction every time. The UGA Wind Ensemble is playing a concert tour in Buenos Aires! Four concerts in one week. Plus a city tour, tango show and dinner, trip to a gaucho ranch, and lots of sightseeing time. I am pumped!!! Many stories to come, I'm sure.
We got the rest of our graduation pictures!! Here are a few more favorites...
At the Herty Field fountain......
At the chapel bell....
joy!!
Here's to the class of 2010!
Lauren
